Collection
Information we collect
- Account data such as email address, username, display name, authentication provider details, and plan status.
- Content you create or manage, including recipes, comments, forks, saves, meal plans, shopping lists, and profile preferences.
- Recipe source material you choose to submit, such as imported text, URLs, prompts, or title-based generation requests.
- Billing and usage metadata needed to manage subscriptions, plan limits, and AI credit allocation on eligible plans.
- Basic technical and security data such as IP address, browser details, session identifiers, and service logs used for reliability and abuse prevention.

How we use information
- Provide core product features like authentication, recipe storage, browsing, saving, commenting, planning, shopping lists, and moderation.
- Run AI-assisted features and related processing when you explicitly request them.
- Enforce subscription features, AI credit limits, and billing-related account controls.
- Protect ByteRecipes against spam, abuse, fraud, duplicate content, and unauthorized access.
- Diagnose bugs, improve product quality, and understand aggregate usage trends.
- Respond to support requests, privacy requests, billing questions, and account recovery needs.
We do not sell personal data
Visibility and vendors
Sharing, public content, and service providers
If you publish recipes or post comments, that content can be visible to other ByteRecipes users. Your display name, username, and published recipe metadata may appear anywhere that public content is shown inside the product.
Private recipes, private planner data, and private shopping list data are not displayed publicly, though they may be accessible to authorized collaborators when you use sharing features.
We use third-party providers for hosting, authentication, object storage, email delivery, AI processing, and billing. Those providers process data under their own terms and security practices.
Controls
Your choices, retention, and contact
- You can update profile details such as display name and account preferences from your account settings.
- You can edit, privatize, publish, or delete recipe content you control, subject to product limits and moderation needs.
- You can contact us for account deletion assistance, privacy questions, or data handling questions.
- We retain information for as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and keep the platform secure.
